Because Ramapo is a state-assisted college, the cost of attending is affordable compared to many other institutions. There are three forms of student financial aid and an application is required:<\/p>\n
The package offered to a student is determined by financial need and college year.<\/p>\n
Financial Aid is based on your financial need. Financial aid comes in the form of grants, loans and work-study. The first step to receiving financial aid is filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available starting October 1 each year, and new students should submit their FAFSA no later than May 1\u00a0so that we can send you your financial aid award letter around June 1<\/strong>. FAFSA<\/a><\/p>\n NJ Residents:<\/strong><\/p>\n On the 2025-2026 FAFSA on the web confirmation page, you MUST select the “optional feature” link to apply for NJ State based Financial Aid in order to be considered for NJ State Aid (TAG, etc.) from the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA).<\/p>\n If you did not select the optional feature to apply for State aid on the FAFSA on the web confirmation page, you should go to www.hesaa.org<\/a> 3-5 business days after submitting your FAFSA online.
